Terms of Service

Terms of Service

How Veridex Trust Scores are generated, what they are and are not, what we cannot guarantee, who keeps the call to act, and how the platform may be used.

1 · Eligibility & acceptance

By using the site, you accept these terms.

These Terms of Service govern your use of Veridex(“Veridex”, the “service”, the “platform”). By accessing or using the service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. You are responsible for the accuracy of any information you submit and for keeping your account credentials confidential.

2 · The service we provide

A second opinion before you click, reply, or upload.

Veridex runs deterministic checks on a URL, email, text message, QR code, or screenshot you paste into the platform. For each check we surface a 0–100 Trust Score together with the matched signals that drove it, plus a recommendation band (Low Risk, Medium Risk, or High Risk). The service is a decision-support tool — it tells you which rules fired and leaves the call to you.

We do not auto-block messages, do not pipe into your inbox, do not monitor your browsing history, and do not claim that anything we rate is “verified safe”. Every score is a snapshot of the signals we saw at the moment of the check.

3 · Automated scoring methodology

A deterministic weighted rule set — no machine learning, no inbox tap.

Every Trust Score is computed by a fixed set of server-side weighted rules. There is no human review of the verdict — the rules do the work and the human keeps the call. The signals we run are offline: DNS, certificate state, sender authentication, an offline brand-impersonation list, and a lexicon of pressure language. There is no crawling layer, no inbox pipe, and no model inference against your data. The full signal catalogue and band cutoffs are published at /how-scoring-works and /how-trust-scores-work.

Scores can change as new information becomes available: a Trust Score is a snapshot of the signals we saw at the moment of the check. The same input re-checked later, against a changed picture, can return a different score — and a clean score today does not lock in a clean score tomorrow.

4 · User responsibilities

The click, the reply, and the call to act are yours.

Veridex is a second opinion, not a gatekeeper. The score, the matched signals, and the next step are guidance — the click, the reply, and the call to act are yours. You are responsible for your own decisions and for any consequences that follow from acting on (or ignoring) a Trust Score.

When you use the service you agree not to: (a) attempt to reverse-engineer or re-derive the rule weights, the brand-impersonation list, or the lexicon by automated probing; (b) submit content you do not have the right to submit; (c) use the platform to harass, defame, or impersonate any person or entity; or (d) use the service in violation of any applicable law.

5 · Limitations of AI-generated assessments

The current explanation is a deterministic template, not a model call.

The “AI explanation” that accompanies every verdict today is a deterministic template assembled from the matched signals and the verdict band. It is not a response from a large language model. We say this on the result itself. A model-driven version is on the roadmap and will be swapped in once the templates are stable enough to A/B against — the wording of that note is mirrored on the About page and is the source of truth.

Heuristics, not oracles.

We don’t auto-block anything. We tell you which rules fired and leave the call to you. Every signal is a named rule with a fixed weight that a reviewer can read and argue with. The score is guidance, not a guarantee.

6 · No guarantee of accuracy

False positives and false negatives are part of the deal.

Veridex provides automated AI-powered security assessments based on hundreds of technical and behavioral signals. Trust Scores are informational assessments and should not be interpreted as definitive factual statements. Users should independently verify important decisions before relying on any assessment.

We never claim something is “verified safe” — we claim we did not see the usual scam signals. The matched signals are surfaced in plain text on every verdict so you can argue with the call. See the Disclaimer page for the full list of conditions under which a Trust Score may be wrong.

7 · Limitation of liability

The service is informational. It is not advice.

Nothing on Veridex is legal, financial, medical, or professional advice. The Trust Score, the verdict, and the AI explanation are informational assessments only and should not be interpreted as a definitive factual statement, a recommendation to act or refrain from acting, or a substitute for advice from a qualified professional.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Veridex, its operators, and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the service, including any decision you make (or fail to make) on the basis of a Trust Score or any other output of the platform. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for the relevant tier of service in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

8 · Appropriate use of the platform

What Veridex is for, and what it is not for.

  • A read on whether a message looks like the usual scam patterns we watch for.
  • A shareable permalink so a friend or co-worker can see the same verdict.

What the service is not for

  • Legal, financial, medical, or other professional advice. Always consult a qualified person for those.
  • Auto-blocking messages, auto-piping into a mailbox, or running as a background filter.
